Spice Board Registration

  1. Eligibility: Any individual, firm, company, or association engaged in the export of spices from India is eligible to apply for Spice Board registration.

  2. Application: The application for Spice Board registration is made through the official Spice Board website (https://www.indianspices.com/). The applicant needs to create an account and fill in the required details.

  3. Documents Required: The necessary documents for Spice Board registration may include the following:

    • Proof of business registration (e.g., company incorporation certificate or partnership deed).

    • Import-export code (IEC) issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

    • Bank certificate or canceled cheque.

    • Proof of ownership or lease of the warehouse or processing unit, if applicable.

  4. Quality Certification: Spice exporters must ensure that the exported spices meet the quality standards set by the Spice Board. Exporters may need to obtain quality certifications, such as the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license and the Organic Certificate (if applicable).

  5. Inspection and Verification: After receiving the application, the Spice Board may conduct inspections or verify the details provided by the applicant.

  6. Registration Approval: Upon successful verification of the application and documents, the Spice Board issues the registration certificate, which is valid for five years.

  7. Renewal: The Spice Board registration needs to be renewed every five years by submitting the required documents and fees.
